Autumn School
Telavi (Georgia)

28 October – 3 November 2023
International Dialogue for Understanding and Cultural Exchange
about the project
NoBorderSpace provides a platform to discuss complex and relevant issues of history of the relationships, intercultural contacts, imperial and colonial legacies, memory and history politics, nationalism, and contemporary conflicts, as well as methods and perspectives for their peaceful transformation.

In 2024 the project will implement an online education program: a series of lectures and discussions on imperialism and nationalism, memory politics and historical politics, different anticolonial, postcolonial, and decolonial approaches; violence, armed conflicts, and the
ways of their peaceful transformation.

Two training schools for moderators/facilitators of dialogues and discussions will be held in Georgia in 2024.
The Goals of
the Autumn School

● Creating a space for an open exchange of opinions and ideas as well as forming a sustainable transnational and cross-border network of professionals ready to cooperate and work together on different contemporary topics.

● Developing ideas for creating various multimedia materials (articles, podcasts, photo projects, art projects, videos, etc.) to discuss complex and relevant issues of relations within and between societies. See e.g. materials created within other CISR Berlin projects here.

● Based on the results of work at the autumn school, the most interesting and relevant ideas will be supported within the framework of the project.
Approach
We aim to seamlessly combine different formats. Intensive dialogue and discussions, lectures and trainings are a chance to bring a different perspective to the key events of the past that affect interstate and intercultural relations in the present. The Autumn School participants, supported by experienced facilitators and experts, actively participate in shaping the agenda for the discussions and developing ideas for future multimedia materials. The autumn school also includes training sessions to develop skills for creating multimedia materials.
